How we verify locksmiths
One standard, applied before any business appears — and re-checked on a schedule so it stays true.
1. Verified before listed
In states that license locksmiths, every listing is cross-checked against the state's official licensing database — number, status, and expiration. Everywhere else, we verify business registration, active insurance, and review history. Companies we can't verify don't get listed.
2. Re-checked on a schedule
Licensed listings are re-validated against the state database every 90 days; insurance-verified listings re-confirm insurance annually. A lapse removes the badge and unpublishes the listing automatically — that discipline is the brand.
3. Honest labels
Featured placement is always labeled and never changes verification standards. This directory is operated by a licensed locksmith company, which appears as Featured only in areas it serves. Rankings among independent listings are never sold.
